Huggable Lights

Huggable Lights are an excercise in creating a soft and warm lamp for soft and warm light. While conventional lamps are often made of metal and glass, Lux Piñata’s body is made of coated soft foam. It is soft to the touch and only lights up when it is touched and moved. It slowly fades once it can not feel the user’s presence, conserving the battery.

Huggable Lights have been exhibited at Vitra Design Museum Gallery, in the exhibition Worker’s Delight that is dealing with bodily movement in everyday life.

Being battery powered it is a perfect lamp for a night stand or an evening picknick outside.

This project has been made possible thanks to the support and feedback of bless and Volker Albus.
